Membership Terms & Conditions

Applicants (businesses and organisations, individuals(porfessionals and students ) who are Australian with a presence in Spain or Spanish with business development programmes or interests in Australia and any third country nationals with an interest in promoting business and cultural relations between Australia & Spain may apply for admission as a Associate or as a Student member.

Associate Members are divided into the following categories:

Corporate Members
Institutional Members
Individual Members

Admission to Associate or Student Membership is subject to approval by the ASBA Board of Directors upon submitting the completed application form.

Associate Members are invited to attend all General Meetings and all other activities organised by ASBA either nationally or regionally. Student Members may attend all ASBA events but have no voting rights at ASBA General Meetings.

Members Rights & Obligations

Members receive periodic ASBA newsletters, regular ASBA Newsupdates and full communications on ASBA eventsand other Australia Spain activities.

In addition, Associate Members have the following Rights, Benfits & Obligations:

§         voting rights at general meetings
§        access to a variety of exclusive ASBA Membership discounts (accommodation/travel/professional services)
§         access to use ASBA´s Business Centre HQ facilities in Madrid at favourable rates
§         invitations to Australian Embassy events
§         on-line access to the Members’ area
§         Members Services Directory
§         Preferential space and rates for Members and Sponsor advertising on ASBA´s website and newsletter

Members obligations include:

§         Prompt payment of ASBA annual dues and Membership fees
§         Prompt Payment for any specific services provided (e.g. advertising) or event costs.
§         Regular Attendance at ASBA events
§         Active participation in promoting ASBA and its objectives

Institutional Membership

Institution Membership is available to all Institutions elected to the Membership. It includes full Associate Membership benefits and the right of attendance of more than one person at ASBA events

Corporate Membership

Corporate Membership is available to all companies elected to the Membership. It includes full Associate Membership benefits and the right of attendance of more than one person at ASBA events.

Student Membership

Student Membership is available for students who have an interest in developing ties between Australia and Spain

Joining Fee

This is a once only payment to be made on application for membership.

Membership Fee

Membership fees are due annually at the commencement of each financial ( calendar) year and are payable within 30 days of the invoice issue date.

Retirement and Resignation of Members

Should any member wish to retire or resign from the Association he/she shall give three months’ written notice prior to the end of a year and shall be liable for full dues for that financial year.

Membership Suspension or Exclusion

Membership will be suspended if a member is in arrear in payment of his/her subscription for three months or more after the invoice issue date. A notice in writing to that effect will be given to such member by the Secretary of the Association and he/she will cease to receive any publications or other membership benefits from that date. Membership may also be either suspended or revoked for behavior considered inappropraite to the interests of the Association. An administration fee will be charged upon any subsequent reinstatement of membership.

The ASBA Board of Directors reserves the right to refuse an application for membership to ASBA
